Finger in the ear

Hi all,

Hope you're doing well this evening.

Just a quick note or two before going to bed.

I have been a little sick the past few days. Just a cold I think. Nothing too crazy. Just your standard cough and runny nose, etc. But there's an added bonus this time.

For the past few days, I feel like I've been walking around with a finger stuck in my right ear.

Everything's kind of muted. Which makes for interesting conversation. I hear things totally different than how it's intended to be heard.

Hopefully it's not permanent.

March madness

Hi all,

Hope you're doing well on the end of the weekend.

Is it just me, or does it seem more people are talking about March Madness more than usual this year? I don't think I've heard the word "upset" used more in the media than recently.

Let's see, what's been going on...

Today was the first nice day in a long line of cold days. It was nice to just wear a fleece for a change and not have to bring out the winter jacket. I actually took advantage of the nice weather and vacuumed my car out at the car wash. So the floors are once again clean as they were at the beginning of the winter season.

One thing of note, I was disappointed with the suction power of the vacuums - Back in the day (when I was in Ann Arbor) I used to use these car wash vacuums that felt like they could suck up the floor mats if you weren't careful.

Ahh, those were the days...

I can't wait for car spring cleaning to happen :)

Weak and forgetful

Hi all,

Hope you're doing well this weekend.

K gave up sweets for lent. To show support (and I figured it would be good for me) I said that I'd give them up as well.

Just for fun.

So far she's been pretty good. Me, on the other hand, I completely forgot about my pledge of support and had candy the next day.

And every day ever since.

So ok, I can say I've had reduced sweets.

Attack of the garbage can

Hi all,

Hope you're doing well this evening.

Last night I was driving home, I got attacked by a garbage can. Not a plastic household curbside garbage can - It was one of those big steel "hey let's start a bonfire in one of these garbage can" cans.

I was driving home last night and all of a sudden, I saw it in the middle of the road. I swerved to avoid hitting it but apparently I didn't totally avoid it. I clipped it on the driver side door jamb so it scraped the hell out of my car and took the trim piece with it.

Lovely.

So today I gobbed some touch up paint on it (it's actually become touch up paste because it's old) to prevent the car from rusting on the bare patches- I figure It'll buy me some time until I figure out what to do in the summer time when it's a little bit warmer.

It kind of looks like a paint scar now.

A battle wound, if you will.

Can't please everyone

Hi all,

Hope you're doing well this evening.

Unfortunately I am not my normal self today. I find myself in an unhappy situation where I feel helpless at times. One where I'm walking a fine line and I'm trying to please 2 masters.

It's just not that fun for me.

The L Word

Hi all,

Hope you're doing well this evening.

First of all, just wanted to say thanks to everyone that continues to read my blog even though I've been extremely stingy on the blog entries as of late. It's greatly appreciated.

I feel very loved.

So let's see, what's been going on...

Work has been going on as usual. The amount of drama is par for the course, I guess. I should be used to it all by now, right? On a work-related note, I'm coming up on my 3 year anniversary on the 13th of this month. Can you believe it?

Sometimes it feels like 3 years, sometimes it doesn't.

I must say for the most part, it hasn't felt like 3 years, so that's good. That must mean I'm having fun, right?

Something like that.

My brother was here from last Thursday to Sunday. That was pretty fun. We did our normal nerdy stuff. Video games, car shopping, car tv shows, talked about cars, etc. It was very good to see him. One day I think I'd like to move closer to him (he's an east coaster). We've talked about how cool it would be to live closer together, but I don't know if either of us would actually make the huge change to make it happen.

(sigh) Stupid responsibility and inertia.

On the relationship front, things are going very well. It's not all wine and roses (or whatever that phrase is) but I think our relationship is progressing very well and healthily (made up word warning).

My relationships are never very easy. I'm not sure why

We've started making plans for stuff in the future, so that's a good sign right?

This whole "adult" relationship thing is quite new to me. I know if this were one of those college style relationships, we'd pretty much be together all the time by now.

But alas, we're not in college.
